Ми, співробітники Інституту археології НАН України, що розташований у Києві, столиці незалежної України, звертаємось до наукової спільноти.
24 лютого 2022 року Російська Федерація і Білорусь розпочали нову фазу війни на території України. У цей момент під загрозою знищення опинилась наша держава, життя наших рідних, близьких та колег. Гинуть наші співгромадяни, серед яких студенти, музейники, наші близькі, рідні і друзі. Під загрозою безцінні колекції музеїв, архівів та загалом історико-культурна спадщина нашої держави. Частина її вже знищена або знищується у цей момент.
Тривалий час різні генерації дослідників своєю працею виявляли і примножували фонд культурної спадщини України, який став невіддільною частиною світової культурної спадщини і є гордістю кожного громадянина України. Ми як ніхто інший розуміємо абсурдність ідеологічних конструкцій, що поширюються зараз Російською Федерацією на весь світ: міф про нацистів і фашистів, що утримують владу у Києві; міф про “рускій мір”, частиною якого вони вважають суверенну Україну; міф про “рускій народ”, до якого начебто належать українці. Ці наративи створені спеціально для виправдання агресії проти суверенної України, вони є продовженням ідеології тоталітарних режимів XX століття на кшталт гітлеризму і сталінізму, режиму Піночета тощо. Наслідки їх поширення ми відчуваємо не лише ментально.
Ми зверталися до усіх із проханням розірвати контакти із країною-агресором, коли було окуповано Крим і Донбас. Ми просили міжнародну наукову і культурну спільноту про санкції проти наукових, музейних, освітніх установ, що знищують нашу культурну спадщину у Криму. Зараз Російська Федерація нищить нашу країну і погрожує усьому світові ядерною зброєю. Ми вимагаємо почути нас! Немає красивого обличчя у “руского міра”, навіть якщо воно представлене всесвітньо відомими науковими, освітніми чи культурними інституціями! Немає ніякого обличчя у науковців, які продовжують висловлювати жаль і занепокоєння на тлі гуманітарної катастрофи, яка зараз розгортається в Україні внаслідок розпочатої війни.
Ми знаємо і пам’ятаємо про поодинокі випадки опору авторитарним режимам наших закордонних колег з РФ та Білорусі і розуміємо важливість цих дій для майбутнього їхніх народів. Проте, у ситуації війни ми вимагаємо від наукових, культурних, освітніх організацій і установ в Україні, які ще досі співпрацюють із країнами-агресорами, Російською Федерацією і Білоруссю, від українських науковців, які досі залучені до спільних проектів і публікацій з росіянами та білорусами, членів редколегій російських видань, спеціалізованих і наукових рад негайно припинити співпрацю і публічно заявити свою позицію!
Ми вимагаємо від академіка П.П. Толочка вибачення за антиукраїнські висловлювання, які були допущені у 2014—2022 роках, публічного засудження своєї позиції щодо України, яку він висловлював у інтерв’ю, доповідях, публікаціях від часу початку його співпраці зі злочинцем-втікачем В. Януковичем.
Від Вченої ради Інституту археології вимагаємо звернутися до Президії НАН України щодо зняття з академіка П.П. Толочка статусу почесного директора Інституту археології НАН України.
The appeal of Researchers of the Institute of Archaeology
of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
to Stop Cooperation with Countries-Aggressors
We, the researchers of the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine located in Kyiv, the capital of independent Ukraine, appeal to the scientific community.
On 24 February 2022 the Russian Federation and Belarus started a new phase of the war against Ukraine. The existence of our state is threatened, lives of our relatives, close ones, and colleagues are in danger. Our compatriots, among whom are students, museum staff, our close ones, and friends, perish. The invaluable museum and archival collections, as well as the historical and cultural heritage of our state as a whole, are threatened. Part of it has already been destroyed or is being destroyed this very moment.
The generations of researchers have been discovering and multiplying the Ukrainian cultural heritage fund which is an indivisible part of the global cultural heritage and is a matter of pride for every Ukrainian citizen. We, as no one else, understand the absurdity of ideological constructions that are being spread by the Russian Federation globally: the myth about the Nazis and fascists ruling in Kyiv, the myth about the ‘Russian world’ which is believed by them to incorporate sovereign Ukraine, the myth about the ‘Russian nation’ which allegedly should include Ukrainians. These narratives were created with the purpose to acquit the aggression against sovereign Ukraine, and are the continuation of Hitlerism and Stalinism, the darkest totalitarian ideologies of the 20th century.
We appealed to our colleagues-researchers with the request to break contacts with Russia when the Crimea and Donbas were occupied. We were asking the international scientific and cultural community for sanctions against scientific, cultural, and educational organizations and institutions that were engaged in the destruction of our cultural heritage in Crimea. Currently, the Russian Federation is devastating our country and threatening the whole world with nuclear weapons. We appeal to be heard! The ‘Russian world’ does not have a nice face, even if it is represented by the worldwide known scientific, educational and cultural institutions! Researchers who express their regret and worry on Ukraine’s humanitarian catastrophe caused by war, meanwhile continuing their cooperation with Russian institutions, have no face.
We know and remember the unique instances when our colleagues from Russia and Belarus resisted the authoritarian regimes and we understand the importance of such actions for the future of their peoples. However, in the situation of war, we demand that the scientific, cultural, and educational organizations and institutions in Ukraine that still cooperate with the Russian Federation and Belarus, the countries-aggressors, as well as the Ukrainian researchers who are still involved in the joint projects and publications with the citizens of the above-mentioned countries, who are the members of the editorial boards of the Russian editions, specialized and scientific councils, etc. to stop their cooperation immediately and to declare their position publicly!
We demand from the academician P.P. Tolochko to apologize for his anti-Ukrainian declarations made in the period from 2014 to until recently, to publicly dispraise his position towards Ukraine which he had expressed in his numerous interviews, lectures, and publications since the beginning of his cooperation with the fugitive criminal V. Yanukovych.
We also demand from the Scientific Council of the Institute of Archaeology to Appeal to the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to remove from the academician P. P. Tolochko the status of the honorable director of the Institute of Archaeology, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
